The family of Walt Woodward, Bainbridge journalist and experienced yachtsman, had an expression for the cruising life: "Every day an adventure." But of course you know that.
Yes! I am a huge fan of Walt Woodward. I have read his book, Big Toot, many times, and I have a copy of In Defense of Our Neighbors, the biography of Walt and Milly written by Mary Woodward, on my nightstand right now.
You probably remember Walt and Milly's daughter CJ, a friend in grad school who cruised with us on occasion when we lived in Seattle. It was CJ who taught me that expression, which much later produced the name of Ben's first boat which began with an adventure when being trailered from somewhere in southern Maine when he bought it. The trailer came adrift when the hitch came loose because we'd failed to insert the safety pin. In the rescue process I mentioned the Woodward expression which prompted Ben to name the boat "Day One" in honor of the first day of daily adventures.
